About Kumo

Kumo started with a simple question — why does every lap desk look like it belongs in an office?

We wanted something different. Something soft. Something that actually felt good to use while you're curled up on the couch or propped up in bed. Not a slab of plastic with fold-out legs, but a piece you'd happily leave out in your living room.

So we designed the Kumo Desk — a sculpted, bouclé-wrapped surface that sits naturally on your lap. No hard edges. No ugly hinges. Just a clean, cloud-like form that works the way you actually live.

The name says it all. Kumo means "cloud" in Japanese, and that's exactly what it feels like — soft, minimal, and effortless.

We're a small Australian brand, and we care about two things: how our products look and how they feel. If it doesn't pass both tests, we don't make it.
